Amends Mississippi Code Section 37-151-5 to define "at-risk pupil" as a compulsory-school-age child with increased probability of school failure and dropping out due to specific risk factors.

Establishes that at-risk pupils include children from families in poverty, single-parent families, parents themselves, students previously retained in school, and those with education attainment below grade level peers.

Adds children diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder to the definition of at-risk pupils for purposes of the Mississippi Adequate Education Program (MAEP).

Defines "autism spectrum disorder" as a neurological disorder affecting normal brain functions, manifested by impairments in communication and social interaction, and restrictive, repetitive and stereotyped behaviors.

Takes effect July 1, 2012.
