Expands the Mississippi Military Family Relief Fund to provide grants to families of Mississippi National Guard members and U.S. Armed Forces Reserves who suffer considerable loss in federally declared disaster areas

Previously, the fund only covered financial hardships resulting from family members being called to active duty after the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks

Grants are now available when a family resides in a presidential-declared disaster area and the loss is a direct result of that disaster

The Adjutant General establishes eligibility requirements and grant amounts by rule

Fund money does not lapse at fiscal year end and remains under the direction of the Military Department
