Increases the minimum acquisition cost threshold for county purchases that require a requisition, purchase order, and receiving report from an unspecified previous amount to $1,000.00.

Purchases of $1,000.00 or less no longer require formal procurement documentation, though invoices must be signed by the department head or designee, or accompanied by a receipt from the purchaser.

Allows board of supervisors members in counties without countywide road administration systems to purchase items or services up to $1,000.00 without board approval, provided they sign the invoice or receipt and forward it to the purchase clerk.

Requires that all claims based on purchases under the $1,000.00 threshold must comply with the documentation and approval procedures outlined in the amended sections.

Takes effect July 1, 2012.
