Commends the life and legacy of Ike Alfred "Al" Rosenbaum, former Mayor of Meridian, Mississippi (1977-1985), who passed away on March 17, 2012, at age 91

Recognizes his 23 years of military service as a U.S. Marine, including piloting the second aircraft to land at Iwo Jima during World War II, for which he received the Air Medal, five battle stars, and a Presidential Citation

Honors his role in obtaining Congressional approval for the Naval Auxiliary Air Station at Meridian in the late 1950s and his efforts to prevent military base closures during the 1995 Base Closure and Realignment Commission hearings

Acknowledges his civil rights leadership in rebuilding Christian minority churches and Congregation Beth Israel Temple after it was bombed in 1968

Recognizes his extensive community service, business achievements as co-founder of Meyer and Rosenbaum Insurance and WTOK-TV, and philanthropic contributions including scholarships at multiple educational institutions
