Commends the Mississippi Poultry Association for its service to the state's agricultural industry and congratulates the organization on its 75th anniversary in 2012.

Recognizes that the poultry industry is Mississippi's largest agricultural commodity with over $6 billion impact on the state's economy, employing 28,000 people directly and generating 27,000 additional indirect jobs.

Notes that Mississippi ranks fifth nationally in poultry production and processes approximately 757 million birds annually plus 400 million table eggs, generating $2.4 billion in farmer payments and $2.1 billion in wages and salaries in 2011.

Acknowledges the Association's role in advocating for the Emerging Crops Fund and loan program, supporting partnerships with Mississippi State University, state agriculture agencies, and federal USDA, and supporting community philanthropic efforts.

Directs that copies of the resolution be provided to the Mississippi Poultry Association and members of the Capitol Press Corps.
