Commends the Special Olympics athletes of Mississippi for their outstanding achievements in athletics and dedication to developing their skills and talents.

Welcomes Special Olympian Loretta Claiborne to the State Capitol on March 7, 2012, recognizing her as an inspiration for tolerance and overcoming indifference.

Acknowledges Ms. Claiborne's accomplishments including two honorary doctorates, a fourth-degree black belt in Karate, the 1996 Arthur Ashe Courage ESPY Award, completion of 26 marathons with a personal best of 3 hours and 3 minutes, and induction into both the Women in Sports Hall of Fame and Special Olympics Hall of Fame.

Recognizes that Special Olympics emphasize faith, spirit, and determination rather than physical strength, with all participating athletes considered winners.

Directs that copies of the resolution be furnished to Special Olympics of Mississippi, Ms. Claiborne, and members of the Capitol Press Corps.
