Recognizes the 150th anniversary of the Battle of Farmington, fought on May 9, 1862, between Union forces led by Major General John Pope and Confederate forces led by Major General Earl Van Dorn near Farmington, Mississippi.

Documents battle casualties: 16 dead, 148 wounded, and 192 missing from Union forces; 8 dead, 189 wounded, and 110 missing from Confederate forces.

Acknowledges annual community commemoration events including garden socials, street dances, military demonstrations, period dances, and battle reenactments held on the original battlefield.

Commends the Farmington community for the renowned annual reenactment of "The Farmington Races," scheduled for September 15, 2012, on the original battlefield west of Farmington.

Directs distribution of the resolution to the City of Farmington, Mayor Fortenberry, and members of the Capitol Press Corps.
