Commends and congratulates Alcorn State University Braves Baseball Team and Head Coach Barret Rey for winning the 2011 Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Baseball Tournament Championship with a 12-6 victory over Southern University Jaguars on May 22, 2011.

Recognizes this as Alcorn's first-ever SWAC baseball championship and first NCAA Baseball Regional appearance in the university's baseball program history dating back to 1882.

Notes the team finished the 2011 season with an overall record of 27-26 and a SWAC record of 19-4, earning the league's automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament.

Acknowledges the Braves' #2 ranking in the final BlackCollegeBaseball.com poll and participation in the NCAA Baseball Tournament Houston Regional where their season ended on June 4, 2011.

Directs copies of the resolution to be furnished to the Alcorn State University Braves Baseball Team, Head Coach Barret Rey, university leadership, and the Capitol Press Corps.
