Expresses Mississippi Legislature's profound regret for the state's role in slavery and formally apologizes for the wrongs inflicted by slavery and its aftereffects on African Americans and their descendants.

Acknowledges the dehumanization, brutality, and violation of human rights perpetrated through slavery, including the subsequent legacies of Jim Crow laws, segregation, and ongoing discrimination.

Encourages remembrance and teaching of slavery history, Jim Crow laws, and modern-day slavery to ensure these tragedies are neither forgotten nor repeated.

Specifies that the resolution shall not be used in or serve as the basis for any litigation.

Directs distribution of the resolution to state elected officials, higher education leadership, civil rights organizations, and media to disseminate the Legislature's position to constituents.
