Recognizes March 21, 2012, as Carrie Jones Golf Day in Mississippi to honor her historic contributions to golf as a pioneer female and African-American golfer

Carrie Jones began playing golf in 1961 at age 22 and won the 1962 United Golfers Association's National Tournament in Memphis, Tennessee

She has accumulated approximately 130 tournament wins throughout her career, with her most recent victory in September 2007 at the Mississippi State Senior Championship

At age 72, she maintains a handicap of seven and has won the Bay Point Country Club of Brandon's Golf Championship 10 times

She is a member of the Nine Iron Golf Club, the oldest African-American golf club in Mississippi, and an honorary member of the Lady Drivers Golf Club
