Designates the Glenn L. Swetman and Mike Sekul schooners as the official tall ships of the State of Mississippi.

The schooners are authentic replicas of working vessels that sailed the Mississippi Sound and Gulf of Mexico in the late 19th and early 20th centuries from Mississippi coastal harbors.

Both wooden boats are built and owned by the Biloxi Maritime and Seafood Industry Museum, named after pioneers of the Gulf Coast seafood industry.

The vessels are used for educational purposes, including school field trips and summertime Sea and Sail Camps that teach thousands of students annually about maritime history and the seafood industry.

Copies of the resolution are to be provided to the City of Biloxi, the Maritime and Seafood Museum, and members of the Capitol Press Corps.
