Commends and congratulates Eugene Love Fair, Jr., of Hattiesburg, Mississippi, upon his appointment as Justice of the Mississippi Court of Appeals on December 14, 2011, replacing retiring Justice William Myers.

Fair earned a journalism degree from the University of Mississippi in 1966 and a law degree in 1968, and served in the United States Naval Reserve Judge Advocate General's Corps with an honorable discharge in 1977.

Fair engaged in private practice in Hattiesburg from 1972-2006 before serving as Chancellor for the Chancery Court of Mississippi, Tenth Judicial District.

Fair served on the Mississippi Ethics Commission (1984-2004, vice chairman in 2004), the Judicial Nominating Committee, the Supreme Court Committee on Technology in the Courts (1988-1990), and as board attorney for the Pat Harrison Waterway District (1988-1992).

Directs that copies of the resolution be furnished to Justice Fair and members of the Capitol Press Corps.
