Commends the life and service of United States Marine Lance Corporal Edward J. Dycus of Greenville, Mississippi, who died on February 1, 2012, while serving in active duty in Helmand province, Afghanistan.

Recognizes that Lance Corporal Dycus enlisted in the Marine Corps in 2010, served with the 2nd Battalion, 9th Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, and had been in Afghanistan for only a few months before his death in combat operations.

Expresses deepest sympathy to his surviving family members: parents Randy and Theresa Dycus, step-father Franky Drury, siblings Rodney, Stephanie, Laura and Martha, and extended family members.

States that the House of Representatives recognizes outstanding citizens who sacrifice for the nation's safety and security, and honors Lance Corporal Dycus as an American and Mississippian hero.

Directs that copies of the resolution be provided to Lance Corporal Dycus's family, the United States Marine Corps, and the Capitol Press Corps.
