Florence High School Lady Eagles won the 2012 Mississippi High School Activities Association (MHSAA) Class 4A Girls Soccer State Championship by defeating Bay High School 2-1 on February 4, 2012, at Clinton High School.

The team finished the season with an overall record of 18-3-4, scored 86 total goals while allowing only 13 goals, and achieved a seventh-place ranking out of 128 teams in the state.

Head Coach Gray Massey, Assistant Coach Josh Cavanaugh, and managers Anna Claire Wooten and Brittney Jones are commended for their leadership and coaching of the 29-member roster.

The Lady Eagles maintained an impressive overall team grade point average of 3.662 on a 4.0 scale while achieving athletic success.

The House of Representatives commends and congratulates the team, coaches, managers, and parents, and directs copies of the resolution to be furnished to Coach Massey, Principal Tony Martin, the Rankin County School District, and the Capitol Press Corps.
