Commends and congratulates Chief Phyliss J. Anderson on her election as the first female tribal chief of the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians, sworn in on October 4, 2011.

Recognizes Chief Anderson's more than 26 years of experience in tribal government management and her fluency in the Choctaw language.

Acknowledges her prior service as Secretary and Treasurer of the tribe and her extensive leadership roles on governing boards for tribal enterprises in manufacturing, gaming, hospitality, and other multi-million dollar ventures.

Highlights her dedication to service through involvement with tribal committees, religious organizations, and community development associations throughout her career.

Directs copies of the resolution be provided to Chief Anderson, the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians, and the Capitol Press Corps.
