Commends Dr. Jane Everly, principal of Davis Magnet Elementary School in Jackson Public School District, for being named Administrator of the Year by the district.

Recognizes Dr. Everly's educational credentials including a bachelor's degree from Belhaven College (1985), master's degrees from Mississippi College (1987, 1992), education specialist from Mississippi College (1989), and doctorate from Jackson State University (2006).

Highlights Dr. Everly's accomplishments including designing the JPS Middle School Core Traits Character Education curriculum, serving as JPS Gifted Program coordinator, and establishing Davis Magnet as the first elementary school in the state to offer the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program.

Notes Davis Magnet School received the United States Department of Education's Blue Ribbon School Award in 2008 and was rated a Star School by the State Department of Education under Dr. Everly's leadership.

Directs that copies of the resolution be provided to Dr. Everly, the Jackson Public School District, and the Capitol Press Corps.
