Commends the Florence High School Eagles football team for completing the 2011-2012 season with 10 victories and winning the Mississippi High School Activities Association Class 4A, Region 6 District Championship.

Recognizes the team set a school record for most points scored in a single season and defeated McLaurin High School in the Egg Bowl and Richland High School in the Black and Blue Bowl.

Honors Head Coach Steve Pruett and notes five players committed to continue their education and athletic careers at higher learning institutions.

Recognizes individual player achievements including Sam Vincent as Most Valuable Offensive Player in Region 6-4A with the most passing yards in school history and Jorell Thurman as Most Valuable Player in Region 6-4A with the most total touchdowns in a single season.

Directs that copies of the resolution be provided to Coach Pruett, Florence High School Principal Tony Martin, the Rankin County School Board, and the Capitol Press Corps.
