Commends and encourages the relationship between the Republic of China (Taiwan) and the State of Mississippi, recognizing their maintained friendship and cooperation between business communities.

Welcomes Director General Daniel T.C. Liao of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Houston and Director James Wei to the Mississippi House of Representatives.

Recognizes Director General Liao's educational background (bachelor's degree from National Cheng Kung University in Taiwan and doctorate in business administration from Pacific State University) and career with Taiwan's government beginning in 1981, including service as Ambassador to Tuvalu from 2006 to 2008.

Acknowledges Taiwan's exemplary economic and environmental progress, particularly in aviation, and supports Taiwan's participation in the International Civil Aviation Organization and United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.

Directs that copies of the resolution be provided to Director General Liao, Director Wei, and Capitol Press Corps members.
