Commends Samantha Golden of Meridian, Mississippi, for being crowned the thirty-eighth Miss Rodeo Mississippi on January 14, 2012.

Golden will represent Mississippi at Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association events statewide and internationally for one year and will compete for Miss Rodeo America 2013 in Las Vegas, Nevada, in December 2012.

Golden is a 2010 honors graduate of Northeast Lauderdale High School and currently attends Mississippi State University pursuing a bachelor's degree in accounting with plans for a master's degree and therapeutic equine specialist certification.

Golden has extensive rodeo competition experience with multiple awards including All-Around Senior Girl Champion titles, barrel racing championships, and two-time National Wrangler Top Hand Team selection across various rodeo associations.

House of Representatives extends best wishes to Golden as she serves as Mississippi's First Lady of Professional Rodeo.
