Amends Mississippi Code Section 41-29-144 to expand prohibited methods of obtaining controlled substances to include larceny and embezzlement in addition to existing prohibitions on misrepresentation, fraud, forgery, deception and subterfuge.

Extends the law to cover obtaining legend drugs (prescription medications) by the same prohibited methods, not just controlled substances.

Maintains criminal penalties of 1-5 years imprisonment and/or a fine not to exceed $1,000 for violations.

Effective date: July 1, 2012.
