Expands the prohibition on possessing unauthorized items to include officers and employees of municipal correctional facilities, in addition to state, county, and private correctional facilities already covered

Adds "contraband items" to the list of prohibited items that cannot be possessed, furnished, or brought into correctional facilities

Prohibited items include weapons, deadly weapons, unauthorized electronic devices, cell phones, and cell phone components/accessories such as SIM cards and chargers

Extends the geographic scope of the prohibition to cover property belonging to counties, municipalities, or other entities occupied or used by offenders throughout the state

Violations apply to any person, officer, employee, or offender who possesses, furnishes, attempts to furnish, takes, or attempts to take prohibited items into covered facilities
