SB 2305 Summary

• Increases the fee charged by circuit clerks for taking and recording marriage license applications from $14.00 to $50.00.

• Requires circuit clerks to deposit $14.00 of each marriage license fee collected into the Victims of Domestic Violence Fund on a monthly basis.

• Applies to all marriage license-related services including filing and recording parental consent, medical certificates, proof of age, recording and issuing licenses, and recording and filing returns.

• Effective date is July 1, 2012.
