Requires health insurance policies covering neurological disorders to provide equal coverage for treatment of autism spectrum disorders in children under age 12

Applies to individual and group health insurance policies, health maintenance organizations, self-insured arrangements, and managed health care delivery entities

Mandates that deductibles, copayments, and benefit limits for autism treatment be no more restrictive than those for other neurological disorders

Prohibits insurers from refusing to renew policies, reissuing policies, or restricting services based solely on an autism spectrum disorder diagnosis

Effective January 1, 2012 for any contracts, policies or plans that are delivered, issued, amended, or renewed on or after that date
