Senate Bill 2387 Summary

• Requires the PEER Committee to review the Medicaid managed care program for fiscal year 2012-2013 and deliver a report to the Legislature by December 31, 2013.

• Directs the Division of Medicaid to provide the PEER Committee by July 1, 2012 with its State Quality Assessment and Improvement Strategy, quality and efficiency measures, capitation rates, and inpatient cost analysis for the managed care program.

• The PEER Committee review must evaluate quality of care, service efficiency, and other measures used by the Division of Medicaid for assessing managed care program provider performance.

• Amends Section 43-13-117 of the Mississippi Code to add provisions requiring PEER oversight and reporting on the Medicaid managed care program's performance.
