MS SB2601

Reduces the notice requirement for emergency meetings of county boards of supervisors from five (5) days to three (3) hours.

Allows any two (2) members of the board to call an emergency meeting, instead of requiring the president, vice president, or three (3) members.

Applies the shortened notice and calling procedures only to emergencies involving serious damage to county property, roads, bridges, epidemics, or situations requiring immediate road or bridge repairs.

Requires notice to be given to each board member in person or by leaving a copy at their usual place of residence.

Takes effect July 1, 2012.
