MS SB2606

Removes the requirement that all male death row inmates be housed specifically at the State Penitentiary at Parchman, Mississippi.

Allows male inmates convicted of capital offenses with death sentences to be housed at any appropriate maximum security facility designated by the Commissioner of Corrections.

Maintains existing requirement that female death row inmates be housed in an appropriate facility designated by the Commissioner of Corrections.

Takes effect July 1, 2012.
