Amends Mississippi Code sections 73-22-1 and 73-22-3 to clarify that orthotists and prosthetists must be certified by a Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) approved Durable Medical Equipment, Prosthetics, Orthotics and Supplies (DMEPOS) National Accreditation Organization.

Exempts licensed pharmacists and pharmacies from orthotist/prosthetist certification requirements, allowing pharmacists to continue practicing pharmacy under Section 73-21-71 et seq. without restriction.

Maintains existing exemptions for physicians, other licensed professionals, and persons who have practiced orthotics or prosthetics for 25 or more consecutive years before July 1, 1991.

Retains penalties for unlawful practice: fines between $500 and $2,000 and up to 6 months imprisonment for misdemeanor violations, plus civil damages of $2,500 per incident.

Takes effect July 1, 2012.
