Prohibits motor carriers and shipping persons from entering into transportation contracts that require either party to indemnify, defend, pay attorney's fees, or hold harmless the other party for claims arising from the other party's own negligence, intentional acts, or intentional omissions

Defines "motor carrier" as a person engaged in transporting property for compensation using motor vehicles with gross weight ratings over 10,000 pounds, including their agents, employees, and independent contractors

Declares any indemnification agreement violating these provisions void, unenforceable, and against public policy

Exempts the Uniform Intermodal Interchange and Facilities Access Agreement and other intermodal equipment interchange agreements from these restrictions

Applies only to motor carrier transportation contracts entered into or renewed on or after July 1, 2012
