Parents of students with disabilities must receive a copy of their child's initial or reevaluation assessment report at least 7 days before the eligibility determination and/or IEP meeting, unless the parent waives this requirement in writing.

Parents must receive their child's alternate assessment scores at no cost to the parent.

Parents have the option to tape record their child's IEP meeting at their own expense after providing 3 days' notice to the school district.

The State Department of Education must immediately forward findings and decisions on special education complaints to each member of the local school board, and the school district must simultaneously provide parents with copies of its complaint response and any State Department correspondence.

Outside entities conducting observations or assessments must submit reports to the local educational agency within 14 calendar days, and the agency must notify parents in writing within 3 school days of receipt.
