Creates new position of Curator of the New Capitol Building, to be employed by the Board of Trustees of the Department of Archives and History.

Curator duties include overseeing care of the Capitol Building and grounds, ensuring long-term preservation, conservation, and maintenance of the building, historic furnishings, and grounds.

Curator shall coordinate with Department of Finance and Administration and project professionals on repair, renovation, and restoration plans, ensuring compliance with the Secretary of the Interior's Standards for Rehabilitation.

Curator responsibilities include requesting quotations and permits for Capitol projects, coordinating special state events at the building or grounds, and serving as liaison between the House Clerk, Senate Secretary, and relevant departments.

Curator shall notify Capitol Police, staff, and legislators of upcoming projects and address housekeeping and maintenance problems as they arise; effective July 1, 2012.
