MS SB2793

Amends Mississippi Code Section 29-3-45 to authorize local boards of education to enter into supply agreements for up to 10 years for the sale of forest products including wood waste, wood fiber, pulpwood, and biomass from 16th section lands.

Allows supply agreements through public contract (subject to existing notice and approval requirements) or private contract (after the State Forestry Commission provides a written appraisal and minimum value).

Requires all supply agreements to be recommended by the Mississippi Forestry Commission and approved by both the Forestry Commission and Secretary of State.

Effective July 1, 2012.
