Amends Mississippi Code sections 89-7-31, 89-7-41, and 89-8-13 to authorize landlords to dispose of personal property abandoned by evicted tenants.

Requires summons in eviction proceedings to include notice that if the tenant fails to remove personal property by the date and time ordered by the judge, the landlord may dispose of the property without further notice or obligation.

Establishes that personal property left in a dwelling unit after eviction is deemed abandoned if the tenant fails to remove it by the deadline set by the judge, allowing the landlord to dispose of it without liability.

Applies the abandoned property provisions to evictions for nonpayment of rent under Chapter 7 of Title 89, permitting landlords to seek removal of both the tenant and the tenant's personal property.

Takes effect July 1, 2012.
