Senate Bill 2970 Summary

• Appropriates $7,417,462.00 from the State General Fund for Mississippi National Guard operating expenses for fiscal year 2013 (July 1, 2012 – June 30, 2013).

• Appropriates $102,537,552.00 from special funds including Camp Shelby Timber Fund, Army National Guard Programs Fund, Camp Shelby Base Operations Fund, and Air National Guard Programs Fund.

• Authorizes 901 permanent full-time positions for the Mississippi National Guard.

• Designates $1,960,686.00 for the Youth Challenge Program at Camp Shelby, $460,038.00 for the Armed Forces Military Museum, $300,000.00 for the Sonny Montgomery Center for America's Veterans, and $10,000.00 for Youth Challenge Program uniforms.
