Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College will celebrate its 100th anniversary on September 17, 2012, marking a century since the Harrison County School Board established the Harrison County Agricultural High School on September 17, 1912.

The institution evolved from an agricultural high school into a comprehensive multi-campus junior college system, with the official name "Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College" established on October 1, 1987.

MGCCC expanded to serve four counties (Harrison, Stone, Jackson, and George) with multiple campuses including the Jefferson Davis Campus in Hancock, Jackson County Campus in Gautier, and specialized training centers.

The college has been led by twelve chief executives from James Andrew Huff (1912-1917) through current President Mary Graham (2011-present), transitioning from superintendent to president titles in 1941.

The Legislature recognizes MGCCC's commitment to providing outstanding educational programs and services that support lifelong learning and economic development across the Mississippi Gulf Coast region.
