Commemorates the 150th anniversary of the Battle of Iuka, which occurred on September 19, 1862, near Iuka, Mississippi, as a critically important Civil War engagement.

Recognizes a grand reenactment of the Battle of Iuka scheduled for September 4, 2012, on the actual battlefield site near the intersection of Highway 72 and Highway 25.

Acknowledges Mississippi's significant Civil War contributions, including 49 infantry regiments, 25 cavalry and artillery regiments, 78,000 men in service, and 33 Confederate generals whose remains lie in Mississippi soil.

Directs transmission of the resolution to the Governor, Mississippi Department of Archives and History, Mississippi Commission on the Sesquicentennial of the American Civil War, Mississippi Battlefield Commission, and Tishomingo County Archives and History Museum to encourage citizen education and participation.
