Honors Cono Caranna's retirement as District Attorney for the Second Circuit Court District (Harrison, Stone, and Hancock Counties) after serving from 1984-1988 and 1989-January 2012.

Recognizes Caranna's military service as a rifle company commander in Vietnam where he received the Bronze Star with "V" device, two Oak Leaf Clusters, Air Medal, and Purple Heart.

Commends his professional initiatives including implementing computerized court management systems, expanding a Pretrial Intervention Diversion Program, establishing a drug court, creating a bad-check collection unit generating over $300,000 annually, and opening the first victim/witness coordinator's office in Mississippi.

Acknowledges his extensive community involvement as board member of Family Child Center and Mississippi Special Olympics, and leadership roles in bar associations, veterans organizations, and charitable groups.

Directs the resolution be presented to Caranna and his family and transmitted to the Mississippi and Harrison County Bar Associations and Mississippi Supreme Court.
