Commends the life and public service of Carol Catherine West, a professor at Mississippi College School of Law who passed away on December 5, 2011

West earned degrees including a JD from University of Mississippi School of Law and an MLS from University of Southern Mississippi, and served in various legal and library positions throughout her career

Served as Commissioner on the Mississippi Library Commission from 1992 to 1998 under Governor Kirk Fordice and provided international consulting services to Armenia and Tanzania on parliamentary library development

Was an active member of the American Bar Association, Mississippi Bar, Mississippi Women Lawyers Association, and Mississippi Genealogical Society, serving in leadership roles in multiple organizations

Directs presentation of the resolution to West's surviving family and the Dean of Mississippi College School of Law
