Recognizes and salutes Clint Martin, a 73-year-old self-taught aviation artist from Hattiesburg, for his nationally acclaimed artwork depicting the Tuskegee Airmen, the African-American fighter pilots of World War II

Martin's work is exhibited in 17 museums including the Smithsonian, the Pentagon, the Mississippi Museum of Art, Camp Shelby Military History Museum, and the New Capitol Building

Martin served as a historical adviser on the 1995 HBO movie "The Tuskegee Airmen" and has been associated with the Tuskegee Airmen since 1972; his uncle was one of the original fighter pilots

Thanks Martin for his recent donation of artwork to the New Capitol Building and acknowledges his role in promoting interest in African-American and Mississippi history
