Alcorn Central High School "Lady Bears" Cheer/Dance Team won their second consecutive Mississippi High School Activities Association Class 3A "Hip Hop Title" at the 2011 State Championship Competition on December 16, 2011.

The 14-member squad achieved this victory in only their third year of state competition, with an overall score of 83-3, edging runner-up Kossuth.

Teams were judged on energy, difficulty, formation, technique, transition, and synchronization, with a maximum performance time of 2 minutes and 20 seconds.

The squad, led by Captain Emily Strickland and Co-Captains Anna Wallace and Abby Little, practices three times weekly and performs at home basketball games under Sponsor Candee Witt.

The Mississippi Legislature recognizes and commends the team and sponsor for bringing honor to Alcorn Central High School, their community, and the State of Mississippi.
