Recognizes and commends Richard Morrison, Principal of Northwest Rankin High School, as the 2011 "State Administrator of the Year" as announced by the State Board of Education on January 20, 2012.

Morrison has served as Principal at Northwest Rankin High School since 2008 and was named the Third Congressional District 2011 Administrator of the Year in December 2011.

Under Morrison's leadership, Northwest Rankin High School achieved the top accountability ranking for schools in Mississippi (STAR) for three consecutive years.

Morrison is a 23-year veteran of education with 16 years of service in the Rankin County School District, progressing from Teacher and Coach to Assistant Principal and then Principal.

Directs that this resolution be presented to Richard Morrison, forwarded to the Rankin County Board of Education, and made available to the Capitol Press Corps.
