Commends Jackson Preparatory School "Patriots" Boys Basketball Team and Head Coach David Horner for winning the Mississippi Association of Independent Schools (MAIS) Overall State Championship on March 3, 2012, the school's first state title in 14 years.

Team defeated Marshall Academy 50-45 with a final record of 38-1, led by Ryan Buchanan's 15 points and 14 rebounds, and came back from a 21-9 halftime deficit to win.

Jackson Prep's 14th overall championship title adds to the school's tradition of winning 13 of the first 29 MAIS Overall Tournaments, including three consecutive three-peats.

Team maintained the number one ranking in Class AAA throughout the season and achieved 31 consecutive wins over MAIS teams and 18 straight victories overall.

Resolution directs that the resolution be presented to Coach David Horner and Headmaster Susan R. Lindsay, forwarded to the Jackson Prep Board of Trustees, and made available to the Capitol Press Corps.
