Forest Hill High School "Lady Patriots" girls basketball team won the MHSAA Class 6A State Championship on March 3, 2012, defeating Hattiesburg 62-60 at the Mississippi Coliseum, marking the school's first state title in 46 years

Guard Latoya Collins led the victory with 28 points on 11 of 21 shooting, including a go-ahead 3-pointer with 42 seconds remaining

Head Coach Tangela Banks, in her second year at Forest Hill after only two years of coaching experience, led the team to a 29-5 record
