Recognizes the Vicksburg Campus of AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps for providing service to citizens of the Southern Region

Acknowledges that the Vicksburg Campus was opened in 2009 with 160 Corps members and serves as one of five regional NCCC headquarters across the United States

Notes that the Southern Region covers eleven states (Mississippi, Louisiana, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, Kentucky, and Tennessee) with at least 50% focus on disaster services

Commends AmeriCorps NCCC members for responding to natural disasters in Mississippi, including the 2011 tornadoes and Mississippi River flooding, and participating in National Day of Service on September 11

Directs that this resolution be presented to Gary Turner, Executive Director of the NCCC Southern Region, and David Mallery, Executive Director of the Mississippi Commission for Volunteer Service
