Delta Center Stage in Greenville, Mississippi won Best Play at the 2012 Southeastern Theatre Conference Community Theatre's Ten-State Regional Festival in Chattanooga, Tennessee for its production of "For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow is Enuf."

Director Margaret Carey-McCray was named Best Director and the cast (Cynthia Armstrong, Lucille Brown, Amber Hendricks, Jaribu Hill, Zina Kelly, Jasmine Pollard, and Temika Simmons) earned the Excellence in Ensemble Acting Award.

The production previously won Best Play Honors at the Mississippi Theatre Association Competition in January 2012, earning the right to represent Mississippi at the regional festival.

Delta Center Stage was founded in 1979 as a volunteer organization and continuously produced a subscription season of plays for 23 years before hiring its first full-time employee, Executive Director Tim Bixler, on June 1, 2002.

The Senate and House commend and congratulate Delta Center Stage and direct that the resolution be presented to the Executive Director and forwarded to the Mayor of Greenville and the Mississippi Arts Commission.
