Columbia High School earned the "Star" designation from the Mississippi State Department of Education by ranking in the Top 10% of Mississippi High Schools in 2011, performing above the national average.

Columbia High School serves 525 students with a diverse population (50% Black, 49% White, 1% Asian; 48% female, 52% male) and approximately 60% poverty level, with over 72% receiving free and reduced lunch.

The resolution commends Columbia High School administrators, teachers, students, and parents for their achievement and directs that the resolution be presented to school leadership and the State Superintendent of Education.
