Recognizes July 6, 2012, as the 50th anniversary of William Faulkner's death and honors the Nobel Prize-winning author's life and work.

Acknowledges Faulkner's deep connection to Oxford and Lafayette County, Mississippi, where he moved in 1902 and wrote the majority of his literary works.

Notes that the University of Mississippi's 39th Annual Faulkner & Yoknapatawpha Conference will focus on "Fifty Years After Faulkner" to reflect on his legacy.

Invites citizens of Mississippi to participate in commemorative events in Oxford, including a screening of the 1969 film adaptation of "The Reivers" at The Lyric theater.

Directs that the resolution be presented to the Mayor and Board of Aldermen of Oxford, the Board of Supervisors of Lafayette County, and the Mississippi Arts Commission.
