Recognizes and commends Joe Walker on his retirement after 30 seasons as Head Coach of Ole Miss Track and Field program.

Walker's athletes earned 115 All-America recognitions including 12 NCAA individual championships, and his teams achieved 11 top-20 national finishes with six in the last five seasons.

Coached 71 SEC individual champions and mentored athletes who competed in Olympic Games from 1976-2000 and again in 2008, earning USOC National Track and Field Coach of the Year in 2002.

Notable athletes coached include Brittney Reese (first female Ole Miss individual NCAA champion), Larry Myricks (four Olympic teams), Tony Dees (1992 Olympic Silver Medal), and multiple SEC champions in long jump, hurdles, and other events.

Resolution directs that the recognition be presented to Coach Walker and forwarded to the University of Mississippi Chancellor and Board of Trustees.
