Recognizes Dr. Robert Maddux of Hernando, Mississippi, for being named the 2012 Sedation Dentist of the Year by the Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation Education (DOCS) on March 16, 2012.

Dr. Maddux is the first recipient of this award from the Southeastern United States and has practiced sedation dentistry for ten years.

Dr. Maddux holds a D.D.S. from the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry, an MBA from the University of Canterbury, and is a Diplomate of DOCS Education with over 200 sedation cases and 200 hours of continuing education.

Dr. Maddux is a member of multiple professional organizations including the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, American Dental Association, and Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation, and has lectured internationally.

Directs the resolution to be presented to Dr. Maddux, forwarded to the Mississippi Dental Association, and made available to the Capitol Press Corps.
