Recognizes the Mississippi Poultry Association on its 75th anniversary, formed in 1937 as the Mississippi Poultry Improvement Association to combat poultry diseases and promote industry development.

Poultry is Mississippi's largest agricultural commodity with over $6 billion in economic impact, 28,000 employees, 27,000 additional jobs, 20 processing facilities, and 2,000 growers.

Mississippi ranks fifth nationally in poultry production, with the state's Third Congressional District leading the nation in poultry and egg production.

The industry processes 757 million birds annually and 400 million table eggs yearly, with over $2.4 billion paid to farmers in 2011 and $2.1 billion in wages and salaries.

Directs that this resolution be presented to the Mississippi Poultry Association's Board of Directors, forwarded to the Commissioner of Agriculture and Commerce, and made available to the Capitol Press Corps.
