Recognizes and commends University of Southern Mississippi Athletic Director Richard Giannini on his retirement after 13 years in the position and 45 years in athletic administration.

Credits Giannini with overseeing 13 Conference USA Championships across football, baseball, softball, volleyball, and men's basketball, and with the football team's 13 consecutive winning seasons and 12 bowl appearances.

Acknowledges his direction of over $68 million in new athletic facility construction and renovations since 1999, including major projects at Roberts Stadium, Reed Green Coliseum, and Pete Taylor Park.

Notes his founding of the Southern Miss Athletic Foundation, which has raised over $100 million, and his establishment of the Circle of Champions program with over 140 members each committing $100,000.

Highlights student-athlete academic achievements during his tenure, including 17 ESPN Academic All-Americans, 280 Conference USA Academic Medalists, and seven consecutive Halbrook Awards for the men's department recognizing high academic standards.
